So Much To Talk About
It’s been a minute, as my kids might say. But I’m back at it after an injury-related hiatus (and another gigantic writing project that is now complete). I’m riding a lot, getting a lot of new equipment, and ready to start doing this blog again. Hope you’re ready, too.
The big news at the moment is that I’m riding the Seagull Century this coming Saturday. It’ll be my fifth century this year, and I’m really excited to ride this one. It was a blast last year, and I expect more of the same this year. The course is completely flat except for one small hill going into Assateague Island. It won’t be like Carroll County riding at all, or any of my previous centuries this year (reports of those are coming up).
In a way, it’s a different kind of challenge. Not doing hills (or mountains) sounds easier, and in many ways it is. In some ways, it can be harder. There’s a constant effort required on flat courses; no downhills to coast on.
The Seagull is a major cycling event on the East Coast, and I’ll be with thousands of other riders. Can’t wait to get on the bike, and then tell you all about it when it’s over.
